Digging by hand. Job – excavate ground to the house foundation.

Job in Devonport, January 2026.

Digging in the basement.

This area needs to be dug down to expose the house foundation. The trench is about 0.4 m in width, 1.3-1.4 m deep and about 12 m long. The trench is going along the house down to the footings. It is necessary to expose the house brickwork to remove the old waterproofing and set up the new one.

The machinery isn’t possible to be used in this small area

due to accessibility to the area – only hand digging will do the work. The machinery can't perform quite precise operation within the narrow trench, additionally there is a drainage pipe on the bottom of the area and a sewage pipe, located very close to the trench.

The ground contains soil, mixed with clay, stones, gravel, and brick pieces. The soil is loaded into a wheelbarrow which moved upstairs on a ramp.
