American Racing Challenger Team USA, representing Challenging Yacht Club Sail Newport, has been confirmed as an Official Challenger for the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup, making the return of American sailing on the global stage.
Two entrepreneurs Karel Komárek and Chris Welch are the co-founders of the American Racing Challenger Team USA, the team itself will be led by American yachtsman Ken Read, who is the two-time Rolex Yachtsman of the Year and one of the world’s most accomplished and respected sailors.
David Blakey, Commodore of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron said:
“We are delighted to welcome a challenge from American Racing Challenger Team USA, representing Sail Newport.
